The Knox name has been synonymous for years with real estate and law - and when Charles and his father created the Knox Group in 1991, it was with not only built-in expertise but with the enthusiasm and drive that has made the firm one of the most prominent in the area. The firm has grown to encompass all aspects of real estate including commercial development, governmental processing, sales and leasing of commercial and industrial real estate.

Clients of the firm have spanned from the start up business to Fortune 500 companies. Attention to personal service, the detail and knowledge that goes into making a deal successful is the foundation of their ongoing growth and success.

Steve R. Knox joined the firm as principal in 1995 to expand and firms' brokerage operation and particularly its expertise in the office and industrial segments of the market. Steve has over sixteen years of leasing and sales experience and now heads the brokerage operation.

Associates

Charles founded the Knox Group along with his late father, Charles Sr., in 1991. With over 25 years of commercial real estate experience in land acquisition, design, and development, he has collaborated on projects throughout the Charlotte region. Prior to the Knox Group, Charles was with OliverMcMillan, a San Diego based commercial real estate development firm where his duties included managing the acquisition, design, construction, leasing, management and disposition of properties valued in excess of $45 million in California, Arizona, and North Carolina. Charles graduated from Davidson College and lives in Cornelius with his wife Colette and two daughters.

Steve joined the Knox Group in 1995 as Vice President and Broker-in-Charge with a focus on leasing and property management. Prior to joining the firm, Steve worked for 10 years with Vinson Colliers in its leasing, sales and management divisions, where he was tapped to manage company's promotion of its national and international business. At the Knox Group, Steve's 25 years of leasing expertise is an asset in the brokerage of the firm's real estate portfolio. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Steve lives in Charlotte with his wife Paige and two children.

For over 25 years, Gary has been involved with a vast number of projects and real estate transactions totaling over $550 million. Prior to joining the Knox Group in 2010, he was the Principal of an independent real estate firm. From serving as Mayor of Cornelius to chairing the Charlotte Mecklenburg Utilities Commission Advisory Board, his unique experiences have honed his expertise in consulting on utility and zoning matters, investor and public sector matters of land use applications, regional transportation issues and site acquisition. Gary graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and lives in Cornelius with his wife Sharon and two daughters.

Violet has been actively selling real estate for over 20 years and has earned her GRI designation. She served on the Carolina Multiple Listing Service Advisory Board and has been a member of its Board of Directors. Formerly the Office Manger for Joe Knox Properties, she now focuses on residential listings and sales with the Knox Group. She and her husband, Van, live in Mooresville where she is on the town's Beautification Committee and is very active in her church.
